More than half our guests now arrive with a dog, so this is the list we hand over at check-in.
Beaches
Diaz Beach is the classic: kilometres of hard, flat sand at low tide, running west from the Dias Museum. Dogs are expected here and there are usually a dozen playing at any time. De Bakke is quieter and closer to town. Santos Beach, the Blue Flag town beach, is not for dogs in season - respect the signs.
Walks
The St Blaize Trail from the lighthouse is the best on-lead walk in the district: fynbos, cliffs, dassies and, in winter, whales below you. The first hour out and back is plenty. In Linkside itself, the streets are quiet and shaded and the view from the top of Bruns Street over the bay is a fine reward for a morning walk.
Cafes and restaurants
Most places along the Point road and around the harbour have outside tables where a well-behaved dog is welcome. Ask - the answer is usually yes. We keep an updated list at the villa.
Vets and supplies
There are two veterinary practices in town, both within ten minutes of the villa, and the big supermarkets stock decent food if you run out.
Where to stay
